SCAPHON is the local chapter of APHON serving the Southern California area. With over 200 members, SCAPHON is composed pediatric hematology oncology nurses from San Diego to Santa Barbara. Membership is granted automatically to all APHON members to reside in the Southern California area. The SCAPHON board of directors meets monthly, planning activities, educational programs, and regional conferences. About APHON:
The Association of Pediatric Hematology Oncology Nurses, (APHON), is a professional organization pediatric hematology oncology nurses. It's members are dedicated to promoting optimal nursing care for children and adolescents with cancer and their families. APHON began in Atlanta in 1973 as an impromptu meeting of four pediatric oncology nurses. The numbers grew, and the group was incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in April 1976. There are now more than 1,900 APHON members in the United States, Canada, and around the world.
