SCAPHON Went Camping

SCAPHON would like to thank everyone for making our Camp Ronald McDonald Project a great success. This year, SCAPHON collected socks, closed toed shoes, sweatshirts and / or sweatpants, flip flops, Chap Stick / throat lozenges, and sleeping bags for Camp Ronald McDonald. With these donations, our kids and their families will not have to worry about not being protected from the camp environment and they allow those without the above items to know they can still attend camp.

Our grand total of collected items this year was as follows: 59 sleeping bags, 131 pairs of flip flops, 350 pairs of socks, 80 sweatshirts, 57 pairs of sweatpants, 1 1⁄2 cases of cough drops and chap sticks and some much needed miscellaneous items. These items were presented to Brian and Corrie Crater at our May, 2010 conference.

SCAPHON would like to extend another special thanks to Cub Scout Pack #302 for their generous contribution to our project. Their donation was much appreciated and it shows that the impact Camp has on our kids reaches far beyond the hospital walls. Thanks again Cub Scout Pack #302.

SCAPHON’s next community service project will be announced at the Quarterly Meeting at The Claim Jumper in September
